New Director of Communications |
|
Following the appointment of Sara Tomkins, Director of Communications, a new Directorate has been formed. m-four together with the Events team, Press Office and Corporate Communications team will all be part of Sara’s new group. Hopefully the entire group will be together when the council makes the move out of the Town Hall Extension and into No 1 First Street around March next year.
Sara has been given the task of coordinating the enormous amount of communications that the numerous Council departments send out to their customers and residents every year.
One of Sara Tomkins first jobs was to attend a meeting of 28 m-four staff to award them a certificate for having 100% attendance in the last year. This is a special achievement and one that m-four recognises each year. There were three special certificates for staff that had exceptional attendance records. Teresa Mum from Translations had 6 years unbroken, John Gray from Print had 8 years unbroken but Head of m-four Seamus McKeown came in with a unbelievable 11 years stating he had never had a day off since he started with m-four in 1998. |

Let's get this party started |
|
Its party time at m-four as the whole group got together for lunch at Daisy Mill Print unit recently to sample food created by the staff and generally have a good old catch-up. As m-four is located in 4 different places its not often staff can get the chance to get together. This was an idea from Paul Williams after visiting one of the lunches that the Translations team had to celebrate one of their religious festivals. This is the second party out of three planned this year. A whopping 91% voted to keep them going year after year following a recent staff survey. |

Our work on the recent Vascular Health campaign has helped m-four to win an NHS Manchester Staff Award. The campaign was nominated for two awards in the categories of Improving Health in Manchester and also in Partnership of the Year Award. The campaign won the award for Improving Health in Manchester and came runner up in the second, which is great news for m-four and also for the cardio vascular health of over 4,200 people in Manchester. We are thrilled that in the eight weeks that the campaign was running, this is the number of people who registered and completed the free health check.
m-four would like to thank and congratulate all of the members of the steering group who contributed to the success of this pilot campaign.
